What is the history and functioning of this object?

An ancient object appreciated for its beauty and genius. “Marauder” because he is a “smart” pitcher.
Born from the Arab tradition, it was filled with water or wine from the bottom.
So far, it would seem that everything is normal, but be aware that there are no plugs underneath.
Thanks to a cannula inside, the liquid inserted does not fall from below, but only pours from the spout.
The farmers used it to transport water to the countryside, without letting it overflow, keeping it fresh throughout the day (the clay keeps the liquids at temperature).
The same can apply to hot drinks, which maintain their temperature.

How to use? Instructions.

The bummolo is then taken from the base, turned upside down and the liquid is poured inside. Once placed, with the base on the surface, not even a drop comes out!
To use the contents, just use it like any jug. It is pointed at the top, so as to create a void that serves as an air chamber.
This is a truly brilliant invention, an expression of Sicilian ingenuity.
